e-Cylinders EVS - New e-cylinder without through-hole

New e-cylinder without through-hole

RÖHM presents on the EMO-show for the first time the new e-cylinder without through hole EVS for the energy efficient clamping of workpieces on lathes or grinding machines. The user receives a compacte-closed cylinder. Showing the way to the hydraulic free machine RÖHM expands the range of their “e-QUIPMENT”with a further product.

For the electrical clamping of workpieces on lathes or grinding machines, now RÖHM launched the new ecylinder without through-hole EVS. The highly compact cylinder is actuated by a energy saver servodrive with a load of 1,0 kW. For the front loading of cut-off workpieces into the chuck the EVS offers all the advantages of electrical actuated clamping systems. E-Cylinders are energy efficient because they need energy only for the clamping or release process. They work precisely by reducing the stroke to a minimum, they prevent overload at end positions by monitoring clamping forces permanently are save by monitoring the clamping forces permanently. Since there are no hydraulically components the  amount of maintenance is reduced to a minimum. Due to the compact design, the e-Cylinders offers more flexibility at the cross-section of the machine. The EVS-contol can be integrated by a bus-system into the numerical control. With the EVS, the user gains a reliable e-cylinder for chucks without through-holes. An 8 mm passage way allows the supply of coolant, oil or air. RÖHM has developed EVS as a complement to the e-hollow clamp cylinder for clamping bars up to a outside diameter of 35 mm.

On the way to the hydraulic free machine

The new e-cylinder without through hole is a component of the trendsetting „e-QUIPMENT by RÖHM“. Under this label, energy saving products are developed by RÖHM which allows the hydraulic free machine tool. Energy on demand is what those components are characterized by. In 2010 RÖHM was awarded for the development of the electrical clamping head.
